Creative ideas for container gardening?

I have a container garden at my house but I want more unique containers instead of plain pots. I mostly have vegetables and flowers like tomatoes, cilantro, cucumbers, ice plant, marigolds, zinnias, and alyssum.

I thought of using metal coffee cans, wicker baskets, old tea kettles, and clean paint cans.

Any other ideas?

Mailboxes, old buckets, any type of basket, troughs, old ceramic bowls… I would suggest hitting up an antique store, there are always tons of funky, unique containers to find. :)

cut a hole, big enough for a tomato plant to grow out of, in the bottom of a 5 gallon plastic bucket. fill with dirt, hang from post or something and boom, you have a topsy tervy.

Make hypertufa containers!!! These look really nice and are durable. They look like the old fashioned trough gardens in England. You can use dishpans or plastic pots as molds, but use the OUTSIDE of the container.
Here’s a link to the directions.

old cowboy boots are charming – as well as old drawers that sit on ledges and have vines tumbling down.
